Radiation diagnostics is the science of using radiation to study the structure and function of normal and pathologically altered human organs and systems in order to prevent and recognize diseases.


Radiation diagnostics include X-ray diagnostics, ultrasound diagnostics, X-ray computed tomography, radionuclide diagnostics, magnetic resonance imaging. In addition, it is joined by interventional radiology, which includes the implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions with the use of radiation diagnostic studies.
