Omsk surgeons performed a unique operation to restore all structures of the elbow joint
In Omsk, such an operation was performed for the first time
Today, June 15, an operation to restore the structures of the elbow joint was performed at the Clinical Medical and Surgical Center. A patient with a chronic dislocation of the elbow and damage to the head of the elbow joint, due to an unsuccessful operation in Chita, was concerned about the pain and inability to move the hand in full. As doctors note, the complexity of this case is that endoprosthesis of the elbow joint in this situation will not give a positive effect. Specialists of the clinical medical and surgical center decided to perform an operation to restore the structures of the elbow joint.
For this purpose, Professor Andrey Ratiev, Professor of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Military Field Surgery of the Moscow State Pedagogical University named after N. Pirogov (Moscow), was invited to Omsk, who is considered one of the best doctors on elbow joint surgery in our country. He conducted the operation together with a traumatologist-orthopedist of traumatology department No. 1 of the clinical medical-surgical center, a prize-winner of the regional stage of the All-Russian competition of doctors of 2017, Alexander Tyutyunnikov.
Such interventions are extremely complex and are very rarely performed not only beyond the Urals, but throughout the country as a whole. In Omsk, such an operation was performed for the first time. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that as a result of several stages at once all structures of the elbow joint have been restored: the joint itself and the ligaments. "Interventions in this volume and such complexity have never been conducted in Omsk hospitals. In fact, these are five operations in one, "says the chief doctor of the Clinical Medical and Surgical Center, Vadim Berezhnoy." Today, a specialist from one of the leading federal medical centers came to share our experience. But tomorrow the specialists of our clinic will be able to perform them independently. We have everything for this: highly qualified personnel, equipment, consumables. "
