In KMSC, a unique technique for the plasty of anterior cruciate ligaments of the knee joint
Traumatologists of the Clinical Medical and Surgical Center of the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region for the first time conducted five high-tech operations on atroscopic plastic of the anterior cruciate ligaments with anterior medial access.
Discontinuities of cruciate ligaments are one of the most severe injuries of the knee joint, with up to 85% of cases occurring in the anterior cruciate ligament. With acute damage to the anterior cruciate ligament, pain and swelling in the knee joint, an increase in the joint in the volume due to ingress of blood into the joint, and instability of the entire knee joint also occur.
Doctors traumatologists KMSC together Oganesyan Sergey Khachaturovich, assistant of the Department of the University of Friendship of Peoples, Moscow, for the first time introduced the technique of arthroscopic plasty of the anterior cruciate ligament with antero-medial access. Note that arthroscopy is an operative intervention, in which local miniports are performed, one of them introduces an arthroscope with a video camera, and in another instrument for an operation. It should be said that an open operation with wide access requires large-scale incisions and joint opening, which means that it is quite traumatic.
With such an operation, restoration of the function of the cruciate ligament is performed by introducing a new artificially created structure into the joint during the operation. As a material for the new cruciate ligament, the patient's own tissues are used - a tendon autotransplant. After sampling the material and modeling the bundle of the required length and thickness, tunnels are created with special tools with high precision in the condyles of the hip and the tibia. The transplant is inserted into the tunnel and clamped there with the help of special fasteners (screws), the task of which is tightly pressing the artificial ligament to the bone until the moment of their adhesion.
The operation is not traumatic. Given that often patients are young people, leading an active lifestyle and doing sports, this is quite an important factor.
The qualitative performance of such an operation, taking into account the individual characteristics of each patient, is the "superior aerobatics" of arthroscopic surgery, and its implementation is only possible for traumatologists with extensive experience in this section and a rich theoretical baggage.
