The Clinical Medical-Surgical Center opened a unique department of surgery

After the major overhaul, a specialized department of osteomyelitis surgery was opened at the Clinical Medical and Surgical Center of the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region. This department is unique not only for Omsk, but also for neighboring regions, since only here the method of implantation of antibiotic-carrying spacers (implants) in the focus of bone lesion is successfully used. This technique allows a person to get rid of a purulent infection for one, at most two, operations.

For the convenience of patients and medical personnel, redevelopment of the premises was done, all the rooms were equipped with sanitary facilities, and doorways were expanded. Also, the premises were equipped with personal devices for people with disabilities, now in the rooms each patient has call buttons for medical staff, individual lighting and special handrails. Taking into account the specifics of the diseases, an autonomous ventilation system is installed in the opening compartment. The modern operating and new resuscitation unit for septic patients was put into operation and equipped with equipment.

About 7 million rubles were allocated for the reconstruction of the department from the regional budget. To date, more than 1240 people from Omsk and neighboring regions have been treated from osteomyelitis. And for the third year doctors from other cities of Russia come to the KMSC MZOO CLSU to learn effective technology.

"The goal of this project is to provide Omsk citizens with quality care for a formidable disease - osteomyelitis. Worthy conditions have now been created for patients and their doctors. The number of appeals is growing, we receive patients not only from Omsk, but also from neighboring regions. In recent years, we have treated more than 140 people from other cities. Thanks to the modernization of the department, it has become possible to help more people, and their stay in our clinic is more comfortable, "said the head doctor of the KMSC MZO, Vadim Grigorievich Berezhnoy.
